In my opinion Trees are the biggest element at Stowe Landscape Gardens. Yes there are over 40 monuments, Temples, Staues in the gardens as well as a massive Palace (now Stowe School) but the trees in the landscape are there to frame them all and draw the visitors views. Through many years of planning, cultivating, re-planting and adapting it's the trees that enhance it all. Make sure you spend some time appreciating the tree.
